This summer, we proudly marked our 30th anniversary at a Round Rock Express game surrounded by partners, community members, and friends. It was more than a celebration—it was a reflection of three decades of changing lives in Central Texas.
Our Senior VP of Social Enterprises, Keith Sommer, kicked off the evening with a ceremonial first pitch, while BETTY, Goodwill Central Texas’s mobile resource van, introduced fans to our workforce technology and mission services. The event captured what makes GSG special: community collaboration, education, and empowerment through employment.
With our CEO, Rob Neville, and many of our dedicated team members in attendance, we celebrated not just the milestone—but the thousands of lives that have been changed through opportunity. As we look toward the future, we remain deeply committed to continuing that work for generations to come.
Sunny’s Journey: The Power of Persistence
Sunny’s story reminds us why our mission matters. When she began working with our Business Solutions Placement Services (BSPS) team in 2024, she was determined to find meaningful employment despite facing countless rejections.
Guided by our team members Araceli, Angela, and Recruiting Supervisor Lamesia, Sunny showed resilience and optimism that inspired everyone around her. Even after hundreds of applications and interviews, she refused to give up.
And on May 12, 2025, her persistence paid off—Sunny officially began her new role with a large, local employer in Austin. Her success wasn’t just the result of hard work; it was also a testament to the collective effort of GSG and Goodwill Central Texas teams who came together to open doors and build bridges.
